An alternative to the NHS wait

Kent and Medway ICB has capped Right to Choose funding for ADHD assessments this financial year, adding uncertainty on top of waits that already run 8–14 months. A private assessment gives you a route to diagnosis on your own timeline.

What's included

How it works, step by step

  1. Free initial call

A short phone or video call to talk through what you're looking for, check the assessment is suitable, and answer your questions. Nothing is booked or paid until you decide to go ahead.

    15 minutes · No cost
  2. Pre-assessment forms

You'll receive secure online questionnaires covering your history and current experiences. Complete them at your own pace — there's no time limit.

    At your own pace
  3. DIVA-5 interview

A structured interview covering ADHD symptoms in childhood and adulthood, and how they affect different areas of your life. Conducted by video.

Approx. 1.5–2 hours · By video
  4. Report & feedback

Your results are reviewed and a written report is prepared. You'll then have a feedback session where everything is explained in plain language, including next steps such as titration if medication is appropriate.

Before you book: an informant is helpful, not essential

The DIVA-5 benefits from input by someone who knew you in childhood — usually a parent — but, unlike the autism assessment, this isn't a strict requirement. If nobody is available, mention this on your initial call and we'll talk through what the assessment would involve without one.

Is this assessment right for you?

This assessment is designed for you if…

  • You're an adult (18+) seeking a formal ADHD diagnosis
  • You've been on an NHS waiting list, or want to avoid joining one
  • You want a report you can share with your GP, employer, or university
  • You're open to discussing medication as well as non-medication support

It may not be the right fit if…

  • You're under 18 — we assess adults only
  • You're in crisis or need urgent mental health support
  • You're looking for ongoing therapy rather than assessment

Not sure? That's exactly what the free initial call is for — there's no obligation to continue afterwards.
